Fancy a male model or two?

I have recently became absolutely addicted to the exceedingly popular "social media" site Pinterest and thus have been pinning anything and everything I like the look of. And I mean everything. From a pair of Christian Louboutins, a Madonna album cover, to the men I fancy, I have been posting like a maniac. I have to do it constantly for work which makes the temptation to "pin" even greater. I am seriously considering rehab.

Well I do have a point here and that is male models are bloody gorgeous. Rough, long-haired, skinny, smoking.. there are a few that have caught my eye and I will be beginning to post a series of photographs, peppering my blog with a model's face or two, all for you to drool over. You're welcome.

The temptation to not only spend hours copying links but to stare into my computer screen, feeling giddy when another image flicks on the screen of a let's just say fudging gorgeous tattoo clad indie kid with that slicked 50s hair and a fag hanging from his mouth is due to a certain male model. That would be Ash Stymest to be exact, who comes in the exact form I describe above and having spotted after being recently introduced to elite model management's new Tumblr page, inspired me to pin that gorgeous face of his, of course. I mean, what else? And ultimately designate an entire post to male models. I will be posting more than once, in fact it will be continuously over the next month until my supply runs out (this seems unlikely).

I hope you lot are pinning too. It does come with a warning, like Twitter, as it is VERY addictive, but if you are addicted already, please do follow.

Enjoy the pictures. There will be more to come...

Welcome to Miami?

Whilst flicking through my favourite website for finding beautiful pictures from an extensive range of fashion editorials, campaigns and magazine covers, I came across this amazing series of photographs of Tiiu Kuik for the Spanish issue of Woman magazine. Although quite summery in style, with bright colour clash styling and shot in a hot location resembling Miami, it is apt for today because it's really hot here in England today with the sun shining- such a result after last week's rain. But even if it wasn't, these would brighten up the dullest of weather and lowest of moods, reminding you of being away on holiday. Only thing is, I once again wish I was back in some exotic location, showing off my tan and summer wardobe.. and of course sunbathing, drinking and dancing.

This photographic spread is certainly to my taste- on holiday my wardrobe consists of just the same amount of vivid colour (with the odd black dress, which really accentuates a tan), vibrancy and feel it is somewhat fun to look at, so I just had to share it with you, as I do so many other beauties. And better still, the styling reminds me so much of maneater Samantha Jones' from one of my all time favourite television series, Sex and the City. Can you see the resemblance? Do you like the editorial?

Elie Tahari Resort 2012 Collection

Whilst in New York last month, I visited Bergdorf Goodman, the uber sophisticated and elegant department store on 5th Avenue that, shows in the most impeccable of both standards and ways, how retail should be done. Refined and beautiful, it really is worth the trip for and was one of my favourite places in New York that we had the opportunity to visit. It was there that I found the most amazing pair of Elie Tahari sandals. I haven't managed to find the exact pair I fell in love with in store, which were in gold and much better than in ivory but I didn't purchase them simply because they were too expensive. But very beautiful nonetheless. Since then, I have began to develop a love (almost obsession) with Elie Tahari and I usually take no notice of the resort collections (I tend to wait for the mainline collections held twice a year in London), however, I instantly took a liking to summery tones, blends of colours and the 1970s vibe so elegantly conceptualized in 37 outfits.

The looks made up of crisp whiteness, flowing layers of fabric and intricate gold formations are easily the best aspects of the collection- they look the most expensive and graceful, whilst remaining glamorous. I instantly envisage a wealthy older woman at an expensive location or someone incredibly chic sashaying across a beach party sipping cocktails at nightfall. I really do have holidays on my mind. Obsession number 2!

Spurts of salmon pink brighten up the collection, as do the mustard hues on feet and in the form of several accessories- snakeskin holdalls and metallic belts. The 1970s flared jeans add a certain nostalgic element combined with the maxi dresses, billowing gold sleeves and of course, the turbans. For those of you who are fans, Carrie dons these at least twice in the Sex and the City 2 film and Bergdorf Goodman features at the beginning.

The rest of the collection has a more urban feel to it with the neutral colour palette- beige, black and dark grey. Black ends the collection but although head to toe black, the sheerness of the fabric and peep toe shoe, keeps it feminine and pretty, thus completing the overall collection perfectly. The plain blue blazer works well with the patterned body-con pencil skirt and the sheen of the belt. Bronze tones and pale blue make for a great combination. It is the looseness, almost effortlessness created at the end and the serene ladylike glamour we see at the beginning that gives the overall aesthetic versatility and variation- perfect for a resort collection. Elegant, breezy, retro, smart... all words that apply. My favourite pieces, though, are the belted blue blazer, beige and black blocked summer dress and the beautiful white loose-fitting maxi. This would look great with gold shoes, that combined with those incredible gold cuffs, is an ideal evening outfit- even better in an exotic location.

What are your favourite looks? Did any other collection stand out for you?

A funny end to the Easter weekend...

Although not related to Easter in the slightest, all the talk of rabbits reminded me of a hilarious incident from Sex and the City (plus I am off to New York on Friday and have, I dare say it, an empire state of mind and am seriously looking forward to roaming the city for the first time and sipping Cosmos somewhere amazing, even if they are alcohol-free). So, I thought I'd share with you this funny clip to round off the long weekend on a high and hopefully make you laugh...

Pack Up, Let's Fly Away...

2011 has been hectic from the word go and at the moment I have so much to at the same time- writing my dissertation began the never ending workload then it was onto the beginning of my Final Major Project, planning the writing for competition entries, interning, work experience, squeezing in the odd pub visit and flicking through the glossies. Plus- I have a New York/Parsons trip to think about, graduating and then turning 21 in the summer... the list really is endless.

I have been thinking about where to whisk off to for a while now as I really crave a holiday (even though my last was only August and time moves by so swiftly) and want to be somewhere amazing when I hit the big (but dreaded) 2-1. Having a birthday abroad just makes it that bit more special- my 11th (ha, seems like forever ago) in Calpe, a beautiful region on the east coast of Spain was one of the funnest times and definitely one of the best birthdays!

Walking around Chelsea whilst interning the other day I spotted a handful of planes overhead darting about the skies racing to what I imagined to be amazing locations- sunny, scorching hot, heaving with culture, cool places to eat... off on a tangent I go again. Well anyway, it got me thinking about the places I would possibly like to be for my birthday or potential destinations for the next journey I take to where the sun actually shines... one can dream, eh?

Have you been to any of these locations? What was your best ever holiday?

R i   d e   J a n e i r o
I have never had a craving to go somewhere quite as much as I have for Rio- the nightlife simply looks incredible. So that's why I want to go. Plus, it has the most breath taking architecture and perfectly golden, sandy beaches.
Carnival Street Party, Rio

B a r c e l o n a
I have actually been before and want to go back soo badly. I went a few years ago and absolutely loved it- there is so much to see and do. Art is one of my passions and it really is one of the best places to go for that- culture is everywhere, plus it has a beautiful harbour and city centre full of eclectic places to shop.
Highly recommended.
Sagrada de Familia

 S i n g a p o r e
I've never had a strong urge to go visit the east, but lately have really warmed to venturing into the unknown. I really want to sample the food, see the bright lights and explore into such a diverse part of the world.
Raffles Place, Singapore City

C y p r u s
It's just a place I want to visit- it looks so tranquil and set amongst the ruins you could explore for hours. Looks and sounds idyllic and a holiday destination I am sure I will love as much as Turkey where I have been 6 years in a row and Greek Islands I have visited twice.
Northern Peak, West of Polis

E g y p t
In fact, I'd like to go anywhere in the UAE- including Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In Egypt I imagine myself lying in the scorching heat or venturing out in search of my own discoveries- either option sounds exactly like something I could do with right now! Even the North African marvel that is Marrakesh in Morocco. Sex & The City 2 made it look so exciting and adventurous- the enchanting bazaars and mysteriousness that came at night fall. It sounds like I am there already- and so I'm off again...
Gaza

I s t a n b u l
I have been to Turkey many a time, as you know and I desperatley want to visit this enchanting city. Not only for picturesque views, historical value and stunning landscapes, but the atmospheric and exciting feel it has. I long to experience that. It is known for it's cosmopolitan feel, amazing architecture and fantastical nightlife- the darkened lounge bars in which to soak in the energy whilst drinking and dancing the night away. That's my perfect night and one that I want to spend in one of the best countries I have ever ventured to. The traditional way of life, places to ponder and people to meet is, for me, what makes it so special.
The Princes Islands

A s p e n
I have been to the West Coast and NYC (as well as countless American airports) so I know it is somewhere that the food is always perfect and the people friendly. As someone who loves skiing, snow and anything picturesque or sweetly charming in which to ponder, I feel this is the place I need to be as it offers all 3. Just imagine how magical it would be at Christmas time. Next on the American list is New York (which I will be visiting in April as part of a Uni competition), California and Arizona (simply for the Grand Canyon- I love a view, me!) and the latter 2 (as well as Cyprus) partly form the route of my dream travelling experience...
