Fancy a male model or two?

I have recently became absolutely addicted to the exceedingly popular "social media" site Pinterest and thus have been pinning anything and everything I like the look of. And I mean everything. From a pair of Christian Louboutins, a Madonna album cover, to the men I fancy, I have been posting like a maniac. I have to do it constantly for work which makes the temptation to "pin" even greater. I am seriously considering rehab.

Well I do have a point here and that is male models are bloody gorgeous. Rough, long-haired, skinny, smoking.. there are a few that have caught my eye and I will be beginning to post a series of photographs, peppering my blog with a model's face or two, all for you to drool over. You're welcome.

The temptation to not only spend hours copying links but to stare into my computer screen, feeling giddy when another image flicks on the screen of a let's just say fudging gorgeous tattoo clad indie kid with that slicked 50s hair and a fag hanging from his mouth is due to a certain male model. That would be Ash Stymest to be exact, who comes in the exact form I describe above and having spotted after being recently introduced to elite model management's new Tumblr page, inspired me to pin that gorgeous face of his, of course. I mean, what else? And ultimately designate an entire post to male models. I will be posting more than once, in fact it will be continuously over the next month until my supply runs out (this seems unlikely).

I hope you lot are pinning too. It does come with a warning, like Twitter, as it is VERY addictive, but if you are addicted already, please do follow.

Enjoy the pictures. There will be more to come...

Designer: Gomez Gracia

Today I visited the studio of the charming Spanish-born London-based women's fashion designer, Patricia Gomez Garcia who has dressed the likes of American Idol winner Carrie Underwood for the 2012 Grammy Awards, supermodel Adriana Lima and actress Katie Holmes, for a friendly chat mainly about her work, as well a cheeky preview of the Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Gracia's design mantra is "sexy and confident", creating clothing for women who not only want to have fun with their look, but that do so with elegance and refinement. Many pieces were bold in colour and print with a palette of bright orange and fuchsia pink in abundance for Spring/Summer, as well as sophisticated and highly wearable tan leather dress and jacket, both lined with a bright pink silk, adding a colourful twist to an everyday basic and a flash of colour perfect for spring.

As for custom made pieces, there were unique additions, namely an orange leather buckled back fastening added to a dress as requested by a girl from Miami for her prom. Black tie evening gowns, adapting interesting concepts to the wardrobe of the working woman and both eye-catching but pretty evening wear are all components that make up that of Garcia's design concept.

There were also a striking range of beautifully construsted garments for Autumn/Winter; the perfect mixture between edgy and elegance in the form of fitted dressed and a really great pair of two toned leather panelled cropped trousers (the zig-zag panelled skirt is shown below). Garments ranged from slight roll neck short sleeved panelled dresses, a sheer chiffon long sleeved top with heavily embellished cuffs and the most gorgeous embossed leather jacket with matching cut-out collared dress. Both the variety and attention to detail of Garcia's pieces is extensive; notably the array of fabrics, craftsmanship and uber femininity, a quality I particularly love about the clothing she creates. My favourite piece by far was the elegant light grey Swarovski-crystal embellished collar mini dress (shown below), the first item which caught my eye amongst the full rail.

Having recently travelled from London to various international locations on business, including New York, Florida and Paris, as well as planning for the shooting of the Spring/Summer lookbook (the collection for which is available to buy online within the next few weeks), Gracia is adding to her already wide and established client fan base. On meeting her, it is clear immediately that she has a passion for making women not only look good, but feel amazing - and more importantly confident - in any one of her garments. I can only predict an amazing future for her.

Hidden Gem

Josefina Cisternas

I had not come across or heard of the Chilean beauty that is Josefina Cisternas before, until it was pointed out to myself by a young male on Twitter that my blog is missing the blonde swimwear model. This is my reasoning for featuring her- he can know lust over her to his heart's content...

Cisternas is a somewhat more commercial looking model than those I usually covet (Pivovarova, Ericson, Stam, Ward...) but of course, there is no denying her incredibly fresh faced beauty with her flawless, fair complexion and tumbling strands of blonde hair. Saying that, she does also suit that mild grunge look (plum lipstick, black nails, studded leather biker boots) as she so seriously models above and which was featured on VOGUE Italia online. And she carries it off seriously well. This has got to be my favourite image,  as well as those images where she looks away and not into the lens of the camera, which makes for a more interersing stance and the result is sultry and often striking. Nonetheless, the image above combines fun (bright, hazy colour effect), sexiness (swimsuit, heels, pink lipstick) with mystery (dark eye make-up, staring pose) to form a really great photo. Possibly, my favourite of them all.

Which is your favourite?

It was rather difficult to track down a considerable number of pictures- I assumed there would be tonnes of amazing editorials in which she features, on Fashion Gone Rogue, but her name wasn't listed. More surprisingly though, the most commercial looking shot of her in the white bikini and gold hooped earrings is also another I rather enjoy.
Maybe I have been converted.

Three years ago, she was the face of Ripley sweaters, modelled for Giambattista Valli's 2010 Resort collection and is now signed with elite Model Management, represented in Milan. I'm certain that the more famous she becomes, the edgier her editorial work will too. I particularly like the chosen image for her online credentials.

Obsession over (for now), I'd like to know what you think.
Had you heard of Cisternas before now? Do you enjoy her look? Or her work?
Where else have you discovered her?
Do let me know! Enjoy the images.
I know one person will...
