Fashion Parade

I have stacks of amazing editorials that I have had saved for a while now, so I will be posting those, as well as with a varied selection of my favourite images from various publications, over the next few months. I don't think there is ever a bad time to share some inspiration.

If you are a fan of Disneyland, giant ears, theme parks, feathers, embellished gowns or all of the above, then you'll enjoy the following selection of very fun photographs...

Designer: Gomez Gracia

Today I visited the studio of the charming Spanish-born London-based women's fashion designer, Patricia Gomez Garcia who has dressed the likes of American Idol winner Carrie Underwood for the 2012 Grammy Awards, supermodel Adriana Lima and actress Katie Holmes, for a friendly chat mainly about her work, as well a cheeky preview of the Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Gracia's design mantra is "sexy and confident", creating clothing for women who not only want to have fun with their look, but that do so with elegance and refinement. Many pieces were bold in colour and print with a palette of bright orange and fuchsia pink in abundance for Spring/Summer, as well as sophisticated and highly wearable tan leather dress and jacket, both lined with a bright pink silk, adding a colourful twist to an everyday basic and a flash of colour perfect for spring.

As for custom made pieces, there were unique additions, namely an orange leather buckled back fastening added to a dress as requested by a girl from Miami for her prom. Black tie evening gowns, adapting interesting concepts to the wardrobe of the working woman and both eye-catching but pretty evening wear are all components that make up that of Garcia's design concept.

There were also a striking range of beautifully construsted garments for Autumn/Winter; the perfect mixture between edgy and elegance in the form of fitted dressed and a really great pair of two toned leather panelled cropped trousers (the zig-zag panelled skirt is shown below). Garments ranged from slight roll neck short sleeved panelled dresses, a sheer chiffon long sleeved top with heavily embellished cuffs and the most gorgeous embossed leather jacket with matching cut-out collared dress. Both the variety and attention to detail of Garcia's pieces is extensive; notably the array of fabrics, craftsmanship and uber femininity, a quality I particularly love about the clothing she creates. My favourite piece by far was the elegant light grey Swarovski-crystal embellished collar mini dress (shown below), the first item which caught my eye amongst the full rail.

Having recently travelled from London to various international locations on business, including New York, Florida and Paris, as well as planning for the shooting of the Spring/Summer lookbook (the collection for which is available to buy online within the next few weeks), Gracia is adding to her already wide and established client fan base. On meeting her, it is clear immediately that she has a passion for making women not only look good, but feel amazing - and more importantly confident - in any one of her garments. I can only predict an amazing future for her.

Valentino A/W '12

I couldn't bear to leave out Valentino from my chosen line-up. It is literally the epitome of woman and the kind of clothing I love to wear. I do love a dress.

I love the collection every season; I fall in love all over again with the sheer form of fabrics, mixture of textures, meticulous attention to detail, refinement and above all the overly feminine and pretty garments, dresses in particular. For a start, my favourite colour is red and the scalloped hemmed square neck high cinched waist long sleeved dress is absolutely gorgeous. And teamed with those simple ballet pumps, makes for the most stunning outfit and which is certainly on my wish list. I love the leather jacket and modest knee length skirt combo/exaggerated pussy bow blouse combinations. Then there is the lace all in one which I really could do for a wedding I have in November. Apart from the scarlet numbers, my favourite look is possibly the penultimate look- an embellished, slightly puffed sleeve knee length dress cinched at the waist and in the most beautiful soft shade of grey with washed brown and a touch of gold. But really, any piece from this collection will do. I cannot day enough good things about it. What can I say? It gets me every single time.

Top 5 Looks from New York, Milan and Paris

For the second Sunday in a row I have been having a thorough look at the Autumn/Winter '12 collections and picking out my favourite looks from all fashion weeks. To choose just five looks from each was, I must say, so difficult but I eventually narrowed it down to just 15 looks, 5 each from New York, Milan and Paris.

Carven was absolutely gorgeous- I adored the retro aesthetic, laser cut detailing and A-line mini dresses. Balmain was amazing- the skinny fit trousers, jacket and skirt combos and embellished jackets were all favourite pieces of mine and the overall cool, effortless uber stylish feel to the collection did it for me. Alberta Ferretti's collection was beautiful and again, so hard to choose just one look. The decision lied in the lace. I loved Peter Som's sheer, feminine peplum dresses, would happily wear any piece from Victoria Beckham's sister collection and Oscar de la Renta, although refined, was a lot of fun.

Do you agree with my choices? Which were your favourite looks?
